Chick-fil-A traffic backup causes a potential hazard (video).

Chick-fil-A in Bellevue is a favorite spot to eat for many who are in Bellevue at the end of the work day.  But you should know that afternoons around 4:30pm the traffic line to get into the restaurant driveway is backed up to the intersection and there's a good chance you won't be able to find your way into their driveway.

If you can't get into the lane queue and the cars are packed tight bumper to bumper out in the street in the slow lane lining up to get into the driveway, you might as well pass them by in the fast lane; there is nowhere to sit and wait to see if a car will let you merge in when space allows.  You would be blocking the traffic trying to use that fast lane to pass Chick-fil-A.

Ultimately you might as well decide to buy dinner somewhere else if it's the late afternoon because going around the block over and over again hoping to get into that slow lane at that time of day is most likely not going to happen.

Your best chance at that time of day is to be exiting the freeway from the south 405 exit where you swing around the right corner to turn right onto 116th Ave. NE which puts you in that slow lane in front of Chick-fil-A.  You might have to back up cars turning right at that corner who are behind you who would have to either wait for your queue to move forward or they would have to swing wide to avoid backed up cars waiting in that slow lane.

It gets very dangerous. Be careful. Words of advice.  You may want to consider going to Kirkland's Chick-fil-A during that time of day where there are two entry-ways and no backed up traffic issues like there are in Bellevue.

People love Chick-fil-A, but let's not cause an accident by people trying to drive to the restaurant to get their food.

Chick-fil-A does deserve credit however, they do have people directing traffic trying to squeeze as many cars into the two lanes in the parking lot to wait to place their orders.

Perhaps a shoulder could be created in the street to allow more cars to fit into the queue to enter the driveway, preventing cars from getting backed up into the intersection who want to enter Chick-fil-A.

Maybe Chic-fil-A could relocated to a better area that does not create an "iffy" road situation during peak hours.

It seems Bellevue has had no serious problems as far as accidents on that corner.  Let's hope it stays that way in the future.
