Boys & Girls Club provided Thursday and Friday accommodations for children during sudden school closures

Bellevue's children were well taken care of during Thursday and Friday's sudden school closures this week.

According to Tim Motts, President and CEO of Bellevue's Boys & Girls Club, children were provided with breakfast and lunch on both days with the help of the Bungie Foundation.

Tim explained he had just spoken with Mayor Lynn Robinson Friday in the event of this happening again.

"In the event this becomes a recurring theme, the Mayor and I just spoke today about this" Tim said.

During the "frenzy" of school closures with parents calling to find accommodations for their children, the Boys & Girls Club was able to find space across their eight sites for all of the children.

The Board was able to work together to handle the extra number of children and to avoid an emergency situation.
