Bellevue is growing at high speed as office space and housing needs are ramping up.

The Eastside has about 3,700 tech companies that administer more than 135,000 technology-related jobs, with Amazon having 2,000 employees in Bellevue, according to 425Business that is creating a technology hub in Bellevue and the Eastside.

This rate of growth is expected to continue over the next five years.

The big tech companies on the Eastside, Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Facebook, have attracted tech-related talent to live and work in the Eastside and Bellevue.

Bellevue is building rapidly to accommodate growth in business and housing since Amazon's announcement that it would bring tens of thousands of jobs to Bellevue a few years ago.

The definition of technology companies can mean a store with software developers such as Starbucks, or game apps.   Working in the technology field can mean working for a store that is not labelled a "tech company", like MicroSoft.

Applications needing development can be machine learning of speech or music, or cloud credit card apps, that have expanded what used to be called the field of technology.

Teaching technology covers such a broad span of computer languages, programming and development that most companies touch the need for technology in some way.

With booming tech businesses and jobs being created on the Eastside that has become a home to tech industries and the coming East Link light rail providing transportation through the Eastside, we may see job growth increasing to more than 125,000 jobs expected in the next 25 years.
