State workers mandated to be vaccinated, Delta strain responds well to Covid19 vaccine.

Governor Jay Inslee announced that most state workers, on-site contractors and volunteers must be vaccinated for covid19 and have until October 18 to be fully vaccinated. This is required for employment according to Governor Jay Inslee's news announcement published on August 9, 2021.  On his Medium blog, Inslee posted that Kaiser Permanente WA also mandated that all of its employees be vaccinate.

The Delta variant reportedly is increasing.  According to the State Department of Health (DOH) news release published August 3, 2021 there were an average of 1,500 new cases reported daily over a four day period from July 31, 2021 through August 3, 2021.

The DOH reports that the covid19 vaccine provides strong protection against the Delta strain, prevents the virus from being as severe, reduces the need for hospitalizations and lowers the risk of death.

For Washington state the data shows there has been 454,637 confirmed cases of covid19.  King County shows confirmed cases of 123,285 with King County's population of 2,260,800. There were 6919 hospitalizations and 1691 deaths due to covid 19 recorded in King County.
